Stormwater management pond construction creates an engineered end-of-pipe facility that controls runoff quality, erosion, and peak discharge through storage, settling, controlled release, and safe overflow. Harrowgate performs the GTA earthworks, structures, piping, grading, erosion protection, and restoration to the approved design and municipal acceptance criteria.
Wet ponds maintain a permanent pool for settling and can provide quantity and erosion control through designed storage and outlets. Dry ponds detain runoff temporarily and drain between events. Constructed wetlands use shallow zones and vegetation where the design supports them. Infiltration basins require suitable soils, groundwater separation, pretreatment, and groundwater-protection criteria. Pond rehabilitation can remove sediment, rebuild forebays and outlets, repair erosion, restore access, or re-establish design volume without reconstructing the entire facility.
Step 1, The subgrade is proofed and trimmed to design contours. Clay liners are placed in controlled lifts at specified moisture and density, while synthetic liners require a smooth subgrade, geotextile protection, welded seams, and testing. Temporary sediment controls remain until the contributing site is stabilized. Accumulated construction sediment is removed so the owner receives the designed storage volume rather than a pond partly consumed by site runoff.

Stormwater pond work follows the issued civil, hydraulic, geotechnical, landscape, and environmental design, OPSS where specified, and applicable local municipal requirements.
