Repair selection follows diagnosis of delamination, cracking, corrosion, impact, chemical attack, movement, leakage, and support. Hand patches suit localized vertical or horizontal loss, formed repair rebuilds deeper sections, shotcrete covers larger vertical and overhead areas, injection treats selected cracks, and full replacement is used when the remaining section or support is unreliable.
Partial-depth patching. Unsound concrete is removed to sound boundaries, reinforcement is treated as designed, and compatible repair mortar is placed within its thickness range. Feather edges and contaminated substrate are not accepted.
Full-depth and formed repair. Slabs, beams, columns, walls, and edges can require shoring, load removal, complete bar access, supplemental reinforcing, formwork, and concrete or flowable repair material.
Shotcrete and overhead repair. Wet or dry process placement is effective where access supports correct nozzle angle, layer thickness, encapsulation, rebound control, finish, and curing. Qualification and trial panels follow the specification.
Crack, joint, and protective work. Epoxy, polyurethane, routing, sealants, membranes, coatings, galvanic systems, and corrosion inhibitors address different mechanisms. They follow structural repairs and drainage correction rather than hiding continuing deterioration.
Step 1, investigate and map repair limits. Harrowgate checks sounding, cracking, leakage, chloride or carbonation data, cores, cover, load, drainage, and previous repairs with the consultant as required.
Step 2, isolate loads and remove unsound concrete. Shoring, traffic, services, debris, silica, slurry, and falling-material controls are established. Sawcuts and low-impact tools protect retained edges.
Step 3, prepare reinforcement and substrate. Bars are exposed, cleaned, measured, supplemented, or replaced as directed. Concrete is roughened, cleaned, and conditioned for the chosen repair material.
Step 4, place and cure within material limits. Mortar, concrete, grout, shotcrete, resin, or sealant is installed at the required temperature, thickness, consolidation, and finish. Curing and protection begin promptly.
Step 5, verify and complete protection. Sounding, bond, cores, thickness, leakage, or visual acceptance follows the specification. Joints, coatings, membranes, and drainage are completed after repair acceptance.

We begin with drawings, condition surveys, testing, leak and drainage history, exposure, previous repairs, and operational constraints. Repair limits are confirmed by visual review, sounding, survey, and consultant-directed investigation. Loads and access are controlled, and shoring is installed before removal where the engineer requires it. Harrowgate sawcuts repair perimeters to avoid feather edges, removes concrete with methods that limit damage to retained substrate, and exposes reinforcing to the specified clearance.
Corrosion, section loss, cracks, delamination, and concealed conditions are documented. Reinforcing is cleaned, supplemented, or replaced to the design, and the substrate is prepared to the repair material requirements. We install formed-and-poured, hand-applied, pumped, injected, or sprayed systems as specified, consolidate and finish them, then cure and protect the repair. Joints, coatings, drains, sealants, traffic surfaces, and waterproofing are reinstated in sequence.
Removal energy is reduced as work approaches retained reinforcing, post-tensioning zones, embedded services, or thin sections. The exposed cavity is reviewed before materials arrive. Geometry, depth, steel clearance, active water, temperature, and placement orientation are matched to the repair system so crews do not force a product into conditions outside its limits.

Harrowgate confirms crack activity, moisture, width, access, pressure limits, and termination before injection. Moving joints and unidentified water paths require a different detail.
Harrowgate exposes reinforcing to the required clearance, removes corrosion products without damaging the bar, records section loss, and installs supplemental or replacement steel only to the engineer’s detail. Bars are not cut for removal access without authorization. The repair material is then consolidated around the steel with the specified cover.
Return to service depends on material strength gain, cure, temperature, repair geometry, coating or membrane completion, loading, and engineer or manufacturer criteria. Harrowgate protects the work and releases the area only after the stated acceptance condition is met. Fast set does not remove the need for correct preparation and cure.
Documentation includes repair maps, preconstruction conditions, removal limits, reinforcing observations, consultant instructions, product and batch records, mixing and temperature logs, test results, cure records, photographs, quantities, and deficiency closeout. This gives owners a location-based history for future condition checks and maintenance planning.
The new patch can shift corrosion activity to adjacent chloride-contaminated concrete, shrink against weak edges, trap moisture, or concentrate movement. Sound removal limits, reinforcement assessment, compatible material, curing, joint treatment, drainage, and corrosion strategy reduce perimeter failure.
Replacement is considered when deterioration extends through the section, support has failed, reinforcement needs broad access, geometry is wrong, movement continues, or the remaining concrete cannot provide a reliable bond. The structural and operational consequences determine the boundary.
